Our Team

Our qualified teachers will hold either a Diploma of Teaching ECE or the equivalent Bachelor Degree. We also support teachers working towards their qualifications and occasionally you will see student teachers on practicum here with us.

Qualified teachers are required to enter a 2-3 year Advice and Guidance Mentoring Programme to become a fullPenguin wally certificated teacher, with their practicing certificates requiring renewal every 3 years.

Each staff member is involved in an internal performance appraisal and supported to achieve their professional goals.

All staff undergo a police vetting process and hold current first aid certificates.

Our staff qualifications are on view in reception, and we are very privileged to have so many wonderful teachers in our centre. To see more from each of our teams, please select from the subpages.

Employment with us

From time to time we have positions available within our team for passionate, enthusiastic teachers, including those who are qualified, in training, or unqualified.

These positions are usually advertised via the Education Gazette and TradeMe, and also through word of mouth. We also maintain a database of teachers interested in working for us. Should you wish to be added to this and be considered when a position arises, please email a covering letter and current C.V to Ashleigh, our Centre Manager at ashleigh.allington@penguinsearlylearning.co.nz
